Litepad is designed as a local-first macOS application for opening and reading markdown files. We keep the privacy posture simple: the app does not require an account and does not rely on analytics or advertising trackers.

Information We Collect

Litepad does not collect personal information from you through the website or the app as part of normal use. Markdown files you open remain on your device.

Analytics and Tracking

Litepad does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies in the application. The website is intended to remain lightweight and informational.

Local File Access

Litepad only accesses files that you choose to open. The app uses standard macOS sandbox permissions and does not scan your device for files outside the scope of your direct actions.

Network Activity

Litepad is intended to operate without sending the contents of your documents to external services. If future versions include optional update checks or support links, those interactions will be limited and disclosed in the app.

Data Retention

Because Litepad does not collect your personal data in normal use, there is generally no server-side personal data to retain or delete.
